Carol Bishay is passionate about mental health and working with children. She completed her master’s degree at the University of Ottawa and is registered with the College of Occupational Therpists of Ontario. She enjoys working with chilren of all ages (0-18 years) and completed additional training in supporting children and youth in the following areas: mental health (emotion regulation), sensory processing, fine motor and feeding therapy. From a young age, Carol learned the importance of independence and the impact of Occupational therapy that it can have on one’s education and future. Carol is an advocate for children and the importance of meeting the child where they are at while working together using evidence based practice to archive the child’s goal to help them reach their full potential.

Carol is a bilingual pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) who works with children and parents to navigate the child’s development to reach their full potential in their personal and academic goals. Carol believes that all children deserves equal opportunities to thrive in their environment and believes every child deserves to be met where they are at to be able to succeed in life and become the best version of themselves.

OT is a type of evidence based practice approach that works with children using concrete situations to be able to meet them where they are at and develop their growing brain. OT use the term “clients” to give complete control and independence for the person who is an active participant in their role during the therapy session. Children will come to the session to play, learn and have fun while reaching their goals.

Outside of practice, Carol enjoys spending time with her two young children, working out on the peloton, travelling and connecting with her community on instagram @wellness.OT
